How to clean out sewer lines
At Augusta Industrial Services we use a combination of High Velocity Sewer Cleaning and Remote Visual Inspection to unclog or clean out sewer lines for industrial and municipal customers.
Our Sewer Cleaning Services:
High Velocity Sewer Cleaning
When cleaning a sewer line, the unit is placed directly over a manhole. The 500-ft high-pressure hose is equipped with a special self-propelling, high-velocity jet nozzle which is fed directly into the sewer line or pipe. Special Rotating Nozzles or attachments known as “Root Cutters” can be attached to the sewer jet hose which cut through roots in a sewer system in a fraction of the time it would take by hand. Water up to 2,500 PSI at 80 gallons per minute (GPM) will thrust the nozzle up the sewer right through the clogged materials relieving the stoppage and washing back any loose debris to be removed. As the hose is withdrawn, the sewer is scoured clean by means of the rear jets in the nozzle that discharge a high velocity stream of water. Debris is removed with the onboard vacuum system.

Remote Visual Inspection
Using automated systems, we can carry out visual inspections in long piping systems, tanks or other areas where human entry is not safe or practical
- Often used to verify clean pipes after construction,
- Our process will identify breaks, imperfections or root intrusion in piping
- It can also be used for the mapping of piping systems or utilities
Questions and Considerations
We know that people have many questions regarding sewer cleaning. Here are some of the top ones we have received and some answers…
HOW DO I UNCLOG SEWER LINES WITH CHEMICALS?
Some companies suggest chemicals to clean sewer lines, but our solution uses pressurized water. No chemicals needed.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SEWER LINE AND A STORM DRAIN PIPE?
A sewer has, guess what, sewage (that’s the nasty stuff). A storm drain pipe has rainwater. Both can get clogged. Both can be cleaned and unclogged with our High-Velocity Sewer Cleaning solution.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD SEWER LINES BE CLEANED?
It really just comes down to whenever flow is reduced or the line is clogged.
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO CLEAN OUT A SEWER LINE?
That depends on a variety of factors. It is best for us to look at the job and then provide an accurate estimate.
WHAT IS THE “CATCH BASIN”?
A “catch basin” is part of a stormwater system and is where water runs off from the curb and street and into the storm drain itself.
HOW TO UNCLOG AN UNDERGROUND OUTDOOR DRAINAGE PIPE?
Call us! We use a high-pressure, high-flow water jet to clean sewers and drainage pipes.
