New Employee Qualifications

  2. 1) You must be 18 years of age or older. You must demonstrate a commitment to environmental compliance and safe work practices.
  3. 2) High School diploma or equivalency (GED).
  4. 3) You must pass a pre-employment drug screen and remain drug free throughout employment.
  5. 4) You must have a valid driver\'s license and be approved to drive Augusta Industrial Services' vehicles by our insurance company. If at any time you become uninsurable by AIS insurance it may be grounds for dismissal.

  7. Unacceptable Driving Records:
  8.  
  9.     1) Three (3) moving violations and/or accidents (types A, B, or C) in the most recent three (3) years.
  10.     2) Two (2) moving violations and/or accidents (types A, B, or C) in the most recent year.
  11.     3) Drivers with a major conviction (type A) within the past three (3) years.
  12.     4) Drivers with a suspended or revoked license.

  14. Violation Definitions:

  16. A major or Type A violation includes (but not limited to):
  17.     • Driving while Intoxicated or Under the Influence (DWI, DUI, OWI, OUI)
  18.     • Refusing Substance Test
  19.     • Leaving the scene of an Accident (Hit and Run)
  20.     • Careless or Reckless Driving
  21.     • Manslaughter/Homicide or Assault through use of a Motor Vehicle
  22.     • Drivers who Currently have a Suspended or Revoked License
  23.     • Fleeing/Eluding a Police Officer
  24.     • Commision of a Felony
  25.     • Drag Racing
  26.  
  27. Accidents or Type B violations regardless of the fault of the accident. Most accidents have some degree of negligence on the part of the driver involved. Also, most states do not distinguish between at fault and not at fault accidents.

  29. Minor or type C include most moving violations that are not classified Type A or B. These include (but are not limited to):
  30.     • Speeding
  31.     • Running Red Light or Stop Signs
  32.     • Failure to Yield
  33.     • Improper Lane Change
  34.  
  35. This also includes driver's license suspensions reported as violations.

  37. 5) Record of good judgement/decision making. Applicant must be able to successfully pass comprehensive security background screenings so as to service all AIS customers who are federally regulated by TSA, DOD, DOJ, DHS, etc.
  38. 6) Typical 9-10 hour shift to include sitting, walking, and standing, with occasional computer usage. May also climb, bend, kneel, reach, squat, stoop, and twist. Must be able to carry, lift, pull, and push between 10-100lbs., with repetitive movement of both hands. May be required to wear a respirator.
  39. 7) You must read and write well enough to understand written rules and instructions and fill out paperwork.
  40. 8) You must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  41. 9) You must be able to pass a pulmonary function test. A pulmonary function test determines your physical ability to use respirators.
  42. 10) You must be physically fit enough to climb ladders, enter confined spaces, work in extreme temperatures, and wear full protection equipment.
  43. 11) You must maintain a working phone number through the duration of employment.
  44. 12) You must have reliable transportation.
  45. 13) You must be able to be on call after hours and on weekends.
  46. 14) You must be able to report to work within 45 minutes of being dispatched.
  47. 15) You must be able to travel.
  48. 16) You must have/wear steel toed boots.
